Antique French Meerschaum Pipe with Original Fitted Case – J. Sommer, Paris

Antique meerschaum tobacco pipe from a larger estate collection assembled by a single collector. This example retains its original fitted velvet-lined case marked "Aux Carrières d'Écume, J. Sommer, Paris, Passage des Princes."

The pipe features a genuine meerschaum bowl, original butterscotch amberoid stem, and period bone screw tenon. The stem shows an old repair and fits loosely in the shank, as shown in the photos. The bowl displays normal smoking wear and age-related patina consistent with an early 20th century or late 19th century pipe.

A nice original French cased meerschaum with good display appeal and collector interest.
