In 1894 G.H. Buek & Co. published a compilation of color lithographs entitled "The Wild Flowers of America" by Botanical Fine Art Weekly. Assembled by a group of artists and botanists, the collection included wild flowers from every state in the USA. Each print features two wild flowers illustrated in color. The back of each print gives information on the flower, as long as anecdotes and in some cases, poems. In total 288 plates were made for the collection.
This print features plate 77. Eglantine, Sweet Brier and 78. Golden Ragwort. For its age, the color is still very nice, though the paper has browned. Tiny tear at bottom, does not affect image.
