Vintage Uruguay Monumento a Rodo Stamp Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace

A vintage postage stamp from the Republica Oriental Del Uruguay, commemorating the famous Uruguayan writer, José Enrique Rodó, behind glass in a sterling silver pendant. The pendant is on a brown cord necklace.

The stamp is a 3 cent, from 1948, and depicts part of the monument to Rodó located in Montevideo in his eponymous park. The portion depicted on the stamp is from the parable of "The Farewell of Gorgias". Beneath the image is written the quote: "Por quien te venza con honor nosotros". The stamp was produced by Waterlow & Sons Limited, in London.
