Fordite Rough Chunk
Description
"Fordite" is a catch-all name for the leftover material created during the automobile manufacturing process. As multiple cars are painted in the factory, overspray accumulates, creating layers of alternating color in large quanitities. Artisans have taken this material and cut and polished it into various shapes exposing the bands of multiple layers, like a type of manmande agate.
Unsure where this sample came from, it may not actually be from a Ford factory, perhaps another automobile company. It is possible to discern what manufacturer and time period the material is from based on the colors. Has alternating bands of light blue, black, red, white, dark blue, light purple, pink, seafoam green, tan, and others.
