A large, nicely defined fossil of the ammonite species liparoceras reineckii, which lived in the early Jurassic period, around 200-175 million years ago. The ammonite also appears to be on top of other debris from the ancient ocean floor that fossilized. Very nice impressive specimen. From Ehenfeld, Oberpfalz, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany.
