A really lovely mineral specimen and great display piece exhibiting a host of different crystals. The focal point of the piece is a nicely formed very light tone smoky quartz crystal, accented by a collection of intergrown tourmaline crystals. The tourmaline could be considered "watermelon tourmaline" as it has a very pale green exterior with an extremely light pink interior (practically white or colorless). The largest tourmaline crystal has a full termination, and most of the tourmaline crystals display very well defined vertical growth striations. On the bottom of the specimen can be found some pieces of what appear to be morganite, lepidolite, and perhaps even spodumene growing into the quartz crystal.
Really a fascinating specimen and formed in a way that makes it perfect for display! Nature really is the greatest designer. Specimen is from Afghanistan.
