Vintage Bronze Tone Metal Pirate Chest Cigarette Box

Up for sale is a beautiful, heavy antique novelty desk or cigarette box, styled to look like a miniature hand-hammered pirate treasure chest. This piece features a wonderful rustic texture, complete with non-moving, stationary faux handles cast onto the sides. Most likely made from spelter metal and then given a finish to look like bronze. Attributed to Jennings Brothers. 

The interior is lined with its original, authentic cedar wood, historically used to preserve tobacco or protect fine playing cards and jewelry from moisture and pests.

NOTE: There are some dings and scratches, consistent with age and use. The bottom has a crack in it. The sides of the box where the hinge of the top attaches are cracked. This is most likely due to the heavy top being allowed to open freely, putting too much stress on the box. Please be careful opening top to not exacerbate the issue. Please see photos.
