In 1943, Abbott Laboratories (a manufacturer of medical supplies) hired various artists to spend time among United States military medical staff to record their efforts in World War II. Through these artists' works we get an authentic look into the heroic deeds of multitudes of those who served in the armed forces. Afterward, the artwork was toured across the nation, featured in museums and various publications. Here is a chance for you to own one of these authentic works.

"String Bleach" is a lithograph based on a painting by Ernest Fiene depicting workers in a textile factory. Although born in Germany, Ernest Fiene (1894-1965) began studying art at the National Academy of Design in NYC after moving to the USA in his teens. Best known for his depictions of New York City, Fiene was primarily known for his prints. Among his achievements was being a part of the art competition in the 1932 Summer Olympics, and his works can now be found at the Whitney Museum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum to name a few.
