This listing includes two separate mineral specimens, offered together as a paired set: one ulexite specimen and one selenite specimen. Both pieces are natural mineral specimens, with limited preparation to highlight their distinctive physical properties.
The ulexite specimen has two polished ends, exposing its fibrous internal structure. Ulexite is commonly known as “TV stone” due to its ability to transmit light and images along these fibers—printed text placed beneath the specimen can often be seen projected onto the polished surface. This effect makes ulexite especially popular for educational demonstrations.
The selenite specimen consists of natural crystalline gypsum, left unpolished and representative of the mineral’s typical crystal habit and softness.
Together, these specimens provide an informative comparison of evaporite minerals with different structures and optical properties.
